Globus Medical, Inc. ASSOCIATE TEST ENGINEER in Audubon, Pennsylvania

The Test Engineer (or Associate Test Engineer ) will be responsible for mechanical testing functions including, but not limited to, working with engineers to develop test protocols, designing fixtures, test set-up, running of mechanical tests, data analysis, and writing of test reports. This team player will have experience with multi-tasking in a high energy, fast-paced environment while maintaining high attentiveness to detail. This attentiveness to detail is critical for sample preparation, machine preparation, conducting tests, data logging, maintaining a detailed lab notebook, and sample documentation and archiving. This individual will assist with general laboratory activities, Quality Systems Regulations, and laboratory documentation needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform mechanical testing using standard procedures
Organize, prepare, and document incoming test samples
Develop accurate and complete test protocols for component, sub-assembly and final assembly testing based on information supplied by Product Development
Assist to develop new testing approaches
Summarize and report test data in a clear and concise manner
Write concise, thorough, clear and accurate test reports
Photograph test setups and test specimens after test completion
Organize and maintain test sample storage areas
Conduct OM and SEM imaging as needed
Conduct wear testing of orthopedic devices as needed
Adhere to tight timelines
Qualifications
Minimum of A.A. degree in engineering or equivalent relevant experience. Bachelor’s degree preferable.
Must have 3+ years of experience in a materials testing lab environment for Test Engineer position
Analytical reasoning and problem solving
Experience with MTS (or similar) test machines is preferred
Knowledge of ASTM Test Standards preferred (specifically medical components)
Ability to work in fast-paced, multifaceted environment and achieve successful job completion
Well organized, detail oriented, and team player capable of working in a deadline dictated environment
Ability to adequately represent and reflect company philosophy to customers internal and external
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel)
Strong communication, interpersonal and team skills
Some experience in the medical device field that may include internship/co-op in the Medical Device Industry is desired
Programming experience is desired
Orthopedic device testing is a plus
Wear testing experience is a plus
Physical Demands
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Lifting requirements: lifting <50 lbs. often and >50 lbs. occasionally
